A-House Hunting We Will Go
The recent interval of non-blog-posting was due, this time, to that phenomenon that most people encounter at roughly this stage of their lives - first-time home purchase. So we've been through the whole routine of finding an agent, specifying just what it is we want in a house, how much we're willing to pay for it (fortunately our desires and our finances were aligned pretty well so the agent didn't need to stifle laughter), tramping through houses which are various levels of clean (more on that later), picking the house we like, making an offer on said house, waiting anxiously to see if the offer was accepted, and celebrating when it was.
Whew. How's that for a sentence?
Some of the houses were empty and they looked a bit worse for wear on the paint front. That is easily fixed, but we didn't like them anyway. A few other houses were sadly messy and cluttered. My agent was NOT impressed. We had appointments with them to go look and it didn't look like they had lifted a finger to clean up.
At any rate, we found a house we liked that was neat, clean, looked in good condition, nice area, and all that. So we offered on it and were accepted. Yeehaw.
